please give us a short summary of your website?
Spirit Charms, the home of new age jewellery. Beautiful pendants, gorgeous bracelets. Oracle cards from the likes of Doreen Virtue. We have Crystal,Reiki pendants, and Natural Gemstone pendants too.We also have a collection of New age mind, body and spirit books. Ranges for the wiccan religion, such as Altar cloths, wands, ceremonial items. We stock most things you might want for all your mind, body and spirit needs.At Spirit Charms let the angels carry your shopping basket.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Having been into the spiritualist movement for nearly 20 years. Being a medium and psychic also liked many of the products like Oracle cards, meditation music and such. I have always wanted to have a metaphysical/spiritual business.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
In 2007 when i found the man for the job ;) my fiance, bless him. I had the tools he had the knowledge! :)
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Again my fiance said that Spirit Charms was a good short name to remember and covers all products that we sell.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
The one to one personal friendly service and not automated, also being from a spiritual background myself, so have a very keen and knowledable interest in the products we sell. There is also a spiritual,metaphysical forum for customer support and disscussion topics on all things spiritual.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep it definately, although we are a business it is also a hobby too.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
At the moment there is more investment of time and money, although we are becoming quite successful and popular but we have a way to go yet as Spirit Charms has only just been launched late 2007.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
we wouldn't change it, we are happy with the way things are. Things seem more personal this way rather than commercial which we feel is alot better in the nature of the site.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Who knows, I guess i would have to be psychic to answer that one! lol ;)
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None really.....
What has been your biggest challenge?
there hasn't been really.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Online search engines.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Theres alot more work to it than first thought but nothing we can't deal with.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
As said before the sites only been running since late 2007, didn't really getinto the search engines until early 2008, so not very long although becoming quite popular.
To answer the main question, we have no intentions of giving it up as we have said before, it is a hobby and we are very interested in our products, not in it to make big money although we wouldn't complain ;) it's a past time and an enjoable one at that, that's why we have designed a spiritual forum to go with it.
